Mutant on the loose!
A downloadable game for Windows
We are a team of seven students from Macromedia University Cologne and we have created this little game called “Mutant On The Loose!“ for the Macromedia Game Jam 2023. It is a 2D-Platformer Jump ‘n‘ Run game with fighting elements. Our theme for the Game Jam was “I Never Asked For This“.
In our game you play as Subject 4-37 who is held captive at a shady laboratory which is researching different mutagenes to inject people with causing super-human mutations. The protagonist doesn’t know how he got there just that he needs to break free. While trying to escape you come across the doctors that are responsible, security guards that want to stop you from fleeing, deadly spikes, poisonous acid and many different mutagenes that you can inject yourself with. But be careful! These powers come with a price. A mutagene may help you in some cases but can also hinder you.
These are the controls:
Move Left & Right – A, D or Arrow Keys
Jump – Space
Attack – F
Dash – Shift
These are the possible mutagenes you can collect: (Sadly, the mutagene mechanic is not implemented in the game as we had some problems in production. We hope to update the game soon.)
Double Edge – do double damage but take double damage
Berserker – do more damage but less HP
Vampirism – life steal but do less damage
Leather Skin – take less damage but less attack speed
Turtle Life – higher max HP but less movement speed
Froggyjump – double jump, no negative
Go Fast – more movement speed but slide on ice effect
Smaller – character gets smaller
Spearthrough – character gets dash movement
Our group consists of:
Luka Lauser, Dominika Lomnicka, Alexander Saveliev, Amea Roldan Romer, Philipp Tissen, Alexander Kaloh & Alex Jay Gotsche
Have fun with our game!
